Just as is the case with timing belts, the wide variety of V-belts has skyrocketed tremendously within the last couple of years. The various manufacturers featured in and contributing to the WIAG Antriebstechnik GmbH product portfolio supply V-belts ranging from standard to high-performance models. In other words, we have the perfect drive belt for every single one of your applications.
In general, distinctions are made between raw-edge belts, moulded cog or notch belts and wrapped V-belts. One good example of where wrapped V-belts are implemented is in those applications demonstrating increased slack.
Wrapped V-belts are made of natural and synthetic rubber, they have tensile cords of polyester or aramid and they are fabric-wrapped. The V-belts are heat resistant in a temperature range from ca. -30° to +80 °C. The V-belts are available in the classic profiles in accordance with DIN 2215: 10/Z; 13/A; 17/B; 20/-22/C; 25/-32/D; 40/E
and in the narrow profiles according to DIN 7753 with a reinforced tensile cord: SPZ / 3V / 9N; SPA; SPB / 5V / 15N 19; SPC 8V / 25N.
Special models such as those fitted with the "Bare Back" friction-reducing coating are also available.
Narrow V-belts deliver a higher performance index than classic V-belts.
Wrapped double V-belts in accordance with DIN 7722 for reverse idler pulleys and pulley applications operating in opposite directions can be delivered in the following profiles: HAA/AA; HBB/BB; HCC/CC. The double V-belt lends itself especially well to applications with many bends and curves where power has to be transmitted on both sides, i.e. on the upper and lower side of the belt.
Wrapped composite V-belts designed for drives with highly irregular load capacities in a variety of performance classes complete our delivery programme.
These V-belts have a similar construction to the wrapped V-belts but are not fabric-coated on the edges. The base of the V-belt consists of fibre-reinforced, synthetic rubber. The V-belts have a moulded cog or notch profile on the inside which is designed to achieve a higher degree of flexibility, thus creating smaller deflection diameters.
The high-performance class of V-belts is heat resistant in a temperature range from ca. -40° to +120 °C.
The V-belts are available in the classic profiles in accordance with DIN 2215: 5/-, 6/Y, 8/-, ZX, AX, BX, CX
and in the narrow profiles according to DIN 7753 for powerful and permanent transmission while at the same time still achieving very smooth and quiet running of the belt: XPZ / 3VX, XPA, XPB / 5VX, XPC
The high-performance varieties of these V-belts are equipped with a belt base made out of fibre-reinforced EPDM rubber. Thanks to this supercharged EPDM mix, now even force-locked drives can be achieved at extreme temperatures. Furthermore, the V-belts enjoy a considerably longer service life in comparison to the conventional, raw-edge V-belts. They can be used throughout the mechanical engineering industry and can also replace existing drives efficiently and economically.
The product portfolio offered by the WIAG Antriebstechnik GmbH has the perfect drive belt for every kind of application. V-belts and V-ribbed belts as force-locked drive belts made of neoprene are implemented in those situations where no synchronous transmission ratios or exact positioning is required.

V-ribbed belts conforming to DIN 7867 / ISO 9982 are mainly used at high speeds and for large transmission ratios. These V-ribbed belts run on small pulley diameters and are suitable for reverse idlers.
The structure of a V-ribbed belt comprises ribs made out of synthetic rubber, an embedding compound and a covering fabric of polyamide. The tensile cord is of polyester or, in the case of the high-powered models, of aramid.
The V-ribbed belts can be delivered in the following profiles: PH, PJ, PK, PL, PM.
For those drives with fixed centre distances without separate tensioning devices for assembly in small spaces, we can offer self-tensioning V-ribbed belts in accordance with DIN 7867 / ISO 9982 either with the PJ or PK profile.
Double V-ribbed belts for power transmission on both sides when operating with drives running in opposite directions are available in the following profiles: DPJ, DPK, DPL.
