Albert Chodura Retires

41 years at WIAG - an impressive career with an unexpected twist

After obtaining his vocational baccalaureate in metalworking and electrical engineering and completing an apprenticeship as a general milling machine operator at Hella, Albert Chodura first completed his military service. He then joined WIAG in 1984 as a milling machine operator in production. After a further year working as a fitter, he moved to the dispatch/logistics department.

What was originally intended merely as a temporary arrangement developed into an impressive career: Albert worked as a warehouse clerk until 2000, took over as team leader in dispatch from July 2000, and became head of the warehousing department from July 2003.

“I love the variety in my job,” says Albert. And over many years, he has clearly channelled this enthusiasm into the development of our logistics operations. He can recount many milestones, such as the purchase of the warehouse lift and the separation of functions within logistics – developments that have had a lasting impact on our processes.

In July 2028, a new chapter in his life will begin. Fortunately, however, we do not yet have to say goodbye completely: he will continue to support WIAG on an hourly basis. Otherwise, he would like to devote himself primarily to his family and his grandchild in future.
