Sawing

The very first step in a work plan aimed at the manufacturing of pulleys and gears is usually the task of sawing.

WIAG manufacturing processes are carried out on five automatic band saws, which are fitted with crane equipment connected up by roller conveyors. Bar materials weighing up to 3 tons are placed on this system. Sawing is performed with a circulating saw band up to 6 m long and a cutting width of 2mm. Diameters or bores of up to 430 mm can be sawn at WIAG, with larger diameters being obtained directly from manufacturers.

Sawn cut pieces are then selected, labelled according to the appropriate orders and allocated to the next work process.
